It has always been unlawful to drive with mis-spaced plates but since the new style plates were launched last September the law has been tightened.

However the numbers of vehicles displaying such plates is as high as ever. We have no sympathy for those who wish to show off with their illegal plates. The only people who will be impressed are the police and the DVLA who now have the right to withdraw your private registration and replace it with a standard year related one. You have been warned.

If you are the owner of a vehicle with any of these registrations you ought to be ashamed of yourself. If you want your registration removed from this list then tough bleeding luck. It was your choice to have illegal plates and you have to live with the consequences.
